Selection Process

The UBC Volleyball Club tryouts will span two days, focusing on technical skill assessment and gameplay evaluation. In response to the high level of interest in last year's tryouts, the first day will be open to all applicants, while the second day will be reserved for selected callbacks.

To maintain fairness in the selection process, a dedicated committee will be established, comprising members of the UBC Volleyball Club who are not directly involved in coaching the teams they evaluate (e.g., Men's Gold team evaluations will be conducted by members of the Women's Gold team).

Once tryouts are completed, you will receive an email only if you have successfully earned a spot on a roster.

Season Overview

Each roster will train and compete together for 2 academic semesters (Sept-Apr). Events that occur throughout the year include:

• Pacific Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (PIVA) Tournaments
• Matches against local university clubs (TWU, SFU, UVic, etc...)
• Volleyball BC Provincial Championships
• Volleyball Canada National Championships
• 2 practices per week
• Team workouts & socials
